Our engineers are problem-solvers. Collaborating with other disciplines, they identify, evaluate and execute the projects that drive our growth and success. Functional engineering areas within Noble Energy: reservoir engineering, drilling engineering, facilities engineering, production engineering and completions engineering. We recruit on-campus for entry-level engineers to participate in an extensive on-the-job training program that includes rotational assignments, mentoring and coaching.



Our geoscientists find the oil and gas that makes it possible for us to “Energize the World.” They create long-term value by finding new hydrocarbon accumulations and determining how to profitably extract those resources. The Geoscience department encompasses numerous disciplines: geoscientists, geophysicists, petrophysicists, reservoir engineers, oil and gas economists, and exploration support. Functional areas include: exploration, development and production, and subsurface support. Entry-level geoscientists participate in an extensive, on-the-job rotation program.



Managing the acreage we own or lease is a huge task, overseen by the professionals of our Land Operations department. This group, commonly called “landmen,” acquires the assets, negotiates trades and manages the acreage Noble Energy operates. This includes managing our leases and contracts, analyzing documents to determine ownership interests and calculate how to distribute costs and revenues, and creating the maps which show the mineral and surface ownership.



Operating from our trading room in Houston, marketers help secure the best prices and terms for our oil and gas production. This includes selling to utilities and industrial power generation customers as well as trading crude oil. Our marketing department also offers a variety of products and services for producers and consumers, requiring expertise in gas asset management, fuel management and risk management services.



Within our Production Operations department, many disciplines work together to design, implement, and manage oil and gas projects to achieve our production targets. Operations roles include gas measurement, workover operations, pipeline operations, field drilling and completions, line locators, pumpers/operators, mechanics, roustabouts and construction workers.



In our NO HARM culture, every employee takes ownership of safety and environmental responsibility. Our EHSR (Environment, Health, Safety and Regulatory) professionals are responsible for supporting that culture of NO HARM by developing and managing programs that foster a safe, efficient and environmentally sound workplace. EHSR professionals also ensure that we are in compliance with all applicable environmental laws and regulations and determine our internal standards beyond those requirements.



Our Major Projects group provides the common project management processes and systems we need to successfully and efficiently deliver large-scale development projects. This group identifies best practices and lessons learned, and applies robust project planning and execution and proactive risk management across all projects. Major Projects disciplines include project management, asset services and facilities, and petroleum and construction engineering.



Our Supply Chain Management team’s goal:  best-in-class quality, delivery, and price on the equipment, materials and services we need to operate around the world.  But that’s just part of the story of a global, multi-disciplined team that provides systems and professionals in contracting, procurement, category management, inventory, and logistics to support ongoing operations across Noble Energy.



Finance and accounting professionals play valued roles in all the financial aspects of our business. This department performs the accurate recording, reporting and analyzing of our financials, communication with our stakeholders, securing the capital resources that the company needs to grow and prosper, monitoring numerous compliance and policy standards, and supporting the organization in a number of other critical areas. Disciplines within this department include finance, treasury, accounting, tax, investor relations and internal audit.



Our Information Technology department makes sure we have the right technology, from enterprise systems to mobile applications, and provides the support to make sure it functions reliably.  IT professionals work within functional areas that include enterprise applications, operations applications, enterprise infrastructure, business services, enabling technology and information security.



Our Human Resources team helps us create and support a high performing workforce. It is a multi-functional team that acts as a business partner to our domestic and international operating groups as well as our corporate departments. Functional areas include compensation and benefits, learning and organizational development, talent acquisition, and HR strategy and compliance.



Our Corporate Affairs department encompasses four diverse functions: legal, government relations and corporate communications, compliance and global security. Our lawyers provide consultation on laws and regulations and manage litigation. Our government relations and communications group monitors, evaluates and addresses legislative and regulatory developments that may affect our business, and engages with both employees and external audiences. Compliance professionals tailor programs to support our Code of Ethics and promote compliance throughout the organization. Security management professionals help Noble Energy identify and reduce security risks and respond to security incidents.
